Integration with Project Server |
Project Server 2007 and MOSS 2007 are built on the common Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies platform. This makes it possible for developers and end users to use a common set of development tools and techniques to integrate and extend all the SharePoint products. Project Server 2007 includes the MOSS 2007 core and administrative services, which enable you to implement a project management solution. For example, you can import a task list from MOSS 2007 to Project Server 2007 and convert it to proposals and operations. Further, you can access the project by using Microsoft Office Project Web Access to provide timesheets, tasks, and resource management. In addition, you can convert the proposals and operations project into a full project management solution for your business organization, including schedule recalculations, cost management, and comprehensive reports. Another example of the integration is the inclusion of MOSS 2007 list–based KPIs in the project management solutions.
Office Project Server 2007 is the flexible platform that supports the resource management, scheduling, reporting, and collaboration capabilities in the Office EPM Solution. Office Project Server 2007 enables organizations to store project and resource information centrally and consistently. It also integrates with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 for file management and collaboration capabilities, helping team members to work together more effectively. Further, based on their roles, users can access data and functionality via the Internet with Microsoft Office Project Web Access.
