Introduction:
The goal of these 10 days, course is to introduce Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 to IT Professionals who need to install, configure, administrate, manage and design a Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 environment. The course serves as an introduction to both Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Standard and Enterprise (MOSS) and Microsoft SharePoint Designer.
The instruction will begin with MOSS 2007, and will focus on all of the steps necessary to install and configure SharePoint properly in a single server farm. Once SharePoint is up and running, students will learn administration, Planning, Deploying, Portal Solution, Content Management, Business Intelligence Solutions, Searches, Indexing, Web Parts, Workflows, Integration with other products and the core functionality of SharePoint 2007, so they can begin implementing sites and portals.
Student learning will be facilitated through a combination of instructor presentations and hands-on lab exercises. A sample company will be used in the labs to teach students how to apply SharePoint 2007 from concept to implementation in a typical environment.
Audience:
The course is targeted towards IT professionals who are responsible for installing, implementing, and administering a SharePoint 2007 environment. It is designed for a technical audience consisting of administrators, developers, web masters, and others who wish to gain technical knowledge about SharePoint 2007. No prior knowledge of any version of SharePoint is assumed.

Prerequisites:
The only prerequisite for this course is a technical IT background. The course is structured in a manner that assumes the student is an IT Professional, and comes to class with basic technical skills. Experience with SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2003 is neither required nor expected of the student.
Obviously, some students who attend will already have experience with SharePoint. The instructors will make the suitable connections for these students in the lecture, without confusing the students who are new to SharePoint.
Course Materials and Lab Environment
Students will receive a comprehensive course manual, which will include all presentation materials and lab exercises. The lab exercises are step-by-step and fully documented in the student workbook.
Each student will be given access to the SharePoint 2007 environment on virtual labs. In essence, students will be attending a class where a fully functional SharePoint 2007 environment has been set up for their use in learning the product. No pre-installation of SharePoint 2007 software on the student’s laptop is required for this class.
